The mission

The Marketing Analyst Intern at SA Media works directly with the strategy and performance teams to gather, interpret, and present data that shapes real client decisions. You will be producing reports, conducting research, and contributing to the analytical foundation of live campaigns from your first week.

Your success will be measured by the accuracy, clarity, and usefulness of the analysis you produce. This is a role for a student who is naturally curious about data, precise under pressure, and wants to understand how marketing decisions are made and measured at a professional level.

THE ROLE

What you will do

Support the performance marketing team by gathering, organising, and analysing data from live campaigns across paid media, organic social, email, and SEO channels.

Build and maintain weekly and monthly performance reports for client accounts, translating raw data into clear insights and actionable recommendations.

Conduct market research and competitor analysis to support client strategy, identifying trends, gaps, and opportunities across relevant industries and markets.

Assist in setting up and maintaining campaign tracking across Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, and other platform dashboards to ensure data accuracy and completeness.

Contribute to audience research by analysing customer behaviour, segmentation data, and platform insights to inform targeting and messaging decisions.

Support the development of client-facing presentations by preparing data visualisations, benchmarks, and commentary that communicate performance clearly and compellingly.

Assist in documenting campaign learnings, testing results, and strategic recommendations in a format the wider team can act on.

Research and evaluate marketing tools, attribution models, and analytics platforms to help the team stay informed on best practices.

Collaborate with the content and paid media teams to align analytical findings with creative and strategic decisions.

Contribute to internal SA Media reporting on company-wide marketing performance and growth benchmarks.

WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The ideal candidate

A university student with a strong analytical foundation and genuine interest in marketing. You do not need to have worked in marketing before but you must be able to demonstrate you can think clearly with data.

Currently enrolled in an accredited university or college program in marketing, business, economics, statistics, or a related field

Strong analytical mindset with comfort working with numbers, spreadsheets, and data sets

+

Proficient in Microsoft Excel or Google Sheets for data organisation, basic formulas, and reporting

+

Clear written communication skills with the ability to summarise data findings for non-technical audiences

+

Detail-oriented and precise, with a low tolerance for errors in reporting and data handling

+

Self-directed and able to manage research tasks with minimal day-to-day supervision

+

Genuinely curious about how marketing data translates into business decisions and client outcomes

+

Available for a minimum of 16 hours per week during the internship period

NICE TO HAVE

Bonus experience

Familiarity with Google Analytics, Meta Business Suite, or any major paid media dashboard.

Basic understanding of digital marketing channels including paid social, SEO, email, and content marketing.

Is this internship fully remote?

Yes. This is a fully remote internship open to students globally. You will need consistent internet access, availability for scheduled team check-ins, and the ability to deliver work on agreed timelines.

Is this internship paid?

Compensation is discussed during the interview process and depends on your availability, the scope of your contributions, and where you are in your program. We believe students producing real work deserve to be recognised for it.

Do I need prior marketing experience?

No prior marketing experience is required. Strong academic performance in a related field, proven analytical ability, and a clear understanding of how data informs decisions are more important than job titles.

What tools will I learn to use?

You will gain hands-on experience with Google Analytics, Meta Ads Manager, Google Sheets, and reporting tools such as Looker Studio. The specific toolkit depends on the projects you are assigned to.

How many hours per week is required?

A minimum of 16 hours per week. We structure this flexibly to accommodate your class schedule and exam periods wherever possible.

Will I have direct access to senior team members?
